Camlock Fittings are cam and groove coupling, are also called camlock coupling, and used in a variety of applications for dry and liquid transport. Camlock sizes are ½ inch to 8 inches. They are commonly used for connecting industrial hoses and pipes in petroleum handling, chemical handling, rail car handling, dry bulk cargo handling, and pump configurations. These couplings match quickly and conveniently by cam locking. According to different conveying mediums, we can select different materials (aluminum, brass, 304 & 316 stainless steel, PP and Nylon), and also provide a variety of shaped products and accessories. Brass Camlock Type
What is a camlock?
CAMLOCK coupling, also known as a lever-type quick coupling or cam lock quick coupling, it is easy to install, and can achieve quick coupling. It is widely used in most industrial fields, including the transportation of gas, water, oil, gas and certain corrosive liquids. It can be made of a variety of materials. CAMLOCK couplings are suitable for applications such as oil and gas and chemical industries and have world-recognized reliability and popularity.
What material is Camlock?
The most common camlocks, or cam and groove fittings, are aluminum, stainless steel, polypropylene, brass, and nylon.
What types is camlock?
Type A, Type B, Type C, Type D, Type E, Type F, Type DC, Type DP
What is a camlock coupling used for?
Camlock coupling is mainly used to achieve quick connection and disconnection, and is widely used in various fluid transmission systems, especially in the fields of petroleum, chemical industry, food processing, pharmaceutical industry, etc.
Camlock coupling is designed to enable quick and convenient operation when frequent connection and disconnection are required, thereby improving work efficiency and reducing operation time. Its working principle is to achieve quick locking and release through a cam mechanism to ensure the stability and sealing of the connection.
Specific application scenarios of Camlock coupling include:
- Petroleum and chemical industry: used to transport oil, natural gas, chemicals, etc.
- Food processing and pharmaceutical industry: used to transport food and pharmaceutical raw materials to ensure hygiene and pollution-free.
- Water treatment and environmental protection engineering: used to transport various liquid media, such as sewage, wastewater, etc.
Where are camlock fittings used?
● Fuel & Oil industry.
● Agriculture.
● Paints, Inks and Dyes
● Sanitation & Waste Water plants.
● Defense and government installations
● Original Equipment manufacturers (OEM’s)
● Pumps and Equipment
● Hose

What is the difference between type A and type B camlock?
Type A is male adapter with a female thread. Type B is female coupler with a male thread.
Camlock A: Due to its simple design and easy operation, Camlock A is suitable for occasions that require frequent connection and disconnection, such as conveying pipelines, pump inlets and outlets, etc. It has good sealing performance and can effectively prevent the leakage of liquids or gases.
Camlock B: Due to its two movable joints, Camlock B is more suitable for occasions that require higher reliability and durability, such as long-term stable conveying systems. Its design reduces wear caused by frequent operation and prolongs service life.
What is the difference between a camlock and a quick coupling?
Camlock couplings: Mainly used for liquid transportation, especially in low-pressure occasions, it is easy to install and can achieve quick coupling. It is suitable for gas, water, oil, gas and certain corrosive liquids in most industrial production. Camlocks are connected through a cam locking mechanism. When connecting, just extend the cam arm to insert the adapter into the matching female head, and lock it in the female head through two cam arms to ensure sealing.
Quick Couplings: Quick coupling is a component used to connect pipes of different diameters or shapes. It can quickly connect pipes and has the characteristics of detachable assembly. It is widely used in pipeline systems in hydraulic, pneumatic and chemical industries, and is an efficient and convenient connection method. The working principle of the quick connect connector is to connect the pipes through clamping, clamping and sealing. Its materials are usually stainless steel, brass, etc., which are corrosion-resistant, pressure-resistant and high-temperature resistant.
Quick couplings are suitable for high-pressure hydraulic systems, and camlock is generally used for low-pressure industrial systems.
What pressure can camlock couplings handle?
Camlock couplings are typically designed for low to medium pressure applications. The working pressure usually ranges from 50 to 250 PSI, depending on the material, size, and design of the coupling. Smaller sizes generally handle higher pressure, while larger sizes are rated for lower pressure. Camlock couplings are commonly used for water, oil, fuel, and chemical transfer systems.
What is the difference between camlock and Bauer couplings?
Cam lock couplings (also known as cam-locking couplings, CAMLOCK fittings, or wrench-type quick couplings) and Bauer couplings are two common industrial quick-connect fittings. The core difference lies in their connection method. Cam lock couplings use a wrench-type cam structure for quick locking and are commonly used in low-pressure and frequent insertion/removal applications. Bauer couplings consist of a male and a female part, achieving quick connection through snap-fit or threaded connections. They are primarily suitable for large-diameter, medium-to-high-pressure fluid transportation.
