What is a skive hose?
A skive hose is a hydraulic or industrial hose that requires the outer rubber layer to be partially removed (skin removed) before fitting. During assembly, the outer rubber layer must be removed in the fitting area to expose the reinforcement layer (such as a wire braid or fiber layer). This allows the fitting to be securely crimped or buckled onto the reinforcement layer, ensuring a tight seal and pressure-bearing capacity.
What is a hose skiving machine used for?
A hose skiving machine is primarily used to remove the outer or inner rubber layer of hydraulic hoses before crimping joints.
