Applications of single or double-layer steel wire braided hydraulic hoses (SAE100R17)
This type of hose features a significantly smaller bending radius and smaller outer diameter, making it suitable for routing and connecting hydraulic equipment in confined installation spaces. SAE 100R17 hydraulic hoses can convey mineral and biological oils, water-glycol based fluids, water, and lubricants. It is commonly used in the construction machinery industry, oil and gas industry, industrial manufacturing and heavy industry, agricultural machinery and forestry equipment, etc.
FAQs About SAE 100R17
What is sae 100R17?
SAE 100R17 is a hydraulic rubber hose standard established by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), belonging to the SAE J517 series of specifications, and is specifically designed for medium-pressure hydraulic systems.
SAE 100 R17 hoses are oil-resistant, wear-resistant, pressure-resistant, and possess good low-temperature flexibility. They are commonly used in engineering machinery, agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, and aerospace applications that require reliable fluid transmission, and are particularly suitable for installations with limited space.
What is the pressure rating of SAE 100R17?
SAE 100R17 has a maximum working pressure rating of 210 bar (equivalent to 21 MPa or 3000 psi), and its burst pressure is typically 840 bar (approximately 12180 psi). This standard specifies the technical requirements for medium-pressure hydraulic hoses, suitable for hydraulic systems in construction machinery, industrial equipment, and other fields.
What is the difference between 100R16 and 100R17?
Both SAE 100 R17 and SAE 100R16 hydraulic hoses conform to the SAE J517 standard, but there are key differences in their design and performance parameters, mainly in terms of working pressure, compactness, temperature range, and application scenarios.
Structurally, the reinforcement layer of the SAE 100R17 hydraulic hose is one or two layers, while the SAE 100R16 hydraulic hose has two reinforcement layers. The R17 has a more compact structure, a smaller outer diameter, and a smaller bending radius.
In terms of working pressure range, the pressure of the SAE 100 R17 hydraulic hose is constant, but the pressure of the SAE 100R16 hydraulic hose decreases as the diameter increases.
For application scenarios and fluid compatibility, SAE 100 R17 is suitable for water-based, petroleum-based, and biodegradable hydraulic fluids, emphasizing flexibility in confined spaces; SAE 100R16, on the other hand, focuses more on high-pressure systems, such as construction machinery and industrial hydraulic equipment, with its high burst pressure ensuring safety under extreme operating conditions.
