The SAE 100 R5 is a medium-pressure hydraulic hose manufactured to SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standards. It features a reinforced steel wire braided structure with a fiber-coated outer layer.
SAE100 R5 Hydraulic hose consists of three parts: inner tube, reinforcement and cover. The inner tube is made of black synthetic rubber, this makes it resistant to oil and heat. The reinforcement is one layer of high tensile braided steel wire. Then the hose have solid structure. While the cover is braided fiber. This type of hose is suitable for pipelines of medium pressure hydraulic petroleum-based oil, lubricating oil, superheated lubricating oil, air and water.
Commonly used in pneumatic brakes, power steering, fuel filters, turbochargers, cylinders and other equipment on heavy commercial vehicles. A convenient point is that SAE 100 R5 hose does not need to be peeled off the outer rubber when crimping.

Advantages of SAE 100 R5 Hydraulic Hose
Excellent abrasion resistance and vibration resistance: The SAE100R5 rubber outer layer is covered with a braided fabric layer, increasing abrasion resistance and vibration resistance.
Good flexibility and easy bending: The reinforcing layer is made of steel wire braid, which increases the hose’s pressure resistance without increasing its bending radius, maintaining good flexibility.
Excellent oil resistance: Like ordinary hydraulic hoses, the inner corner layer uses NBR hose, which has excellent oil resistance.
Excellent chemical corrosion resistance: It can resist corrosion from various chemicals, including engine oil, fuels, acid and alkali solutions, etc. This allows the hose to operate safely in different chemical environments, increasing its applicability.
R5 Hydraulic Hose Application
SAE100R5 hydraulic hoses require no stripping of the outer adhesive during crimping.
These hoses are suitable for medium-pressure hydraulic systems exposed to impact, handling petroleum-based oils, lubricants, overheated lubricants, air, and water. Examples include pneumatic brakes, power steering, fuel filters, turbochargers, and cylinders in heavy-duty commercial vehicles, such as forklifts, hydraulic engines, oilfield machinery, and mining/road/construction machinery.
