High-Pressure Suction Hose – Wire Reinforced, Oil/Chemical Resistant
Suction hose is a flexible pipe specially designed for sucking liquid, mud, particles, or other flowing media. It is usually connected to mechanical equipment or pumps for fluid transportation. It is usually used in industry, agriculture, construction, sanitation and other fields to transport the medium from one place to another through vacuum or negative pressure generated by the pump.
Structure of Suction Hoses
Suction hoses typically consist of an inner rubber layer, a reinforcement layer, and an outer rubber layer. The main feature of suction hose is that it can withstand vacuum. Unlike ordinary conveying pipes, suction hoses need to resist the extrusion of external atmospheric pressure (to prevent collapse), so they usually have a spiral steel wire reinforcement layer (embedded or covered with steel wire rings) to maintain the shape of the pipe body.
Advantages of Suction Hose
Strong vacuum resistance, can withstand negative pressure, fiber reinforcement plus wire spiral, anti-collapse, maintain high flow rate.
Lightweight and flexible: The suction hose is flexible and easy to carry and install. When not in use, it can be rolled up for storage, which can save some space and help increase the service life.
Efficient fluid transfer: The smooth interior of the hose makes the movement of liquids and solids smoother, saving time and improving efficiency.
Highly cost-effective: Strongflex suction hoses are widely used, soft and durable, and we offer a full range of suction hoses from 1 inch to 12 inches. Custom sizes, materials, etc. are supported. If you need a combination such as cam lock connectors, you can also buy them all in one stop, factory direct sales, preferential prices, and cost-effective.
What materials are suction hoses made of?
Common materials for suction hoses include polyurethane (PU), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), silicone, rubber, and composite materials. Hoses made from different materials offer distinct characteristics:
PU Suction Hoses: Resistant to abrasion, acids, alkalis, and corrosion; suitable for conveying materials such as granules and powders. They are ideal for dust extraction and material transport.
PVC Suction Hoses: Cost-effective and resistant to acids and alkalis, though they have limited temperature resistance. They are frequently used in vehicle-mounted grain suction systems and water supply systems.
Silicone Suction Hoses: Resistant to high temperatures and aging; suitable for high-temperature environments.
Rubber Suction Hoses: Offer high abrasion resistance and excellent pressure-bearing capabilities; commonly used in industrial suction applications.
Composite Suction Hoses: Combine the properties of multiple materials, offering advantages such as light weight, high toughness, resistance to extreme temperatures and corrosion, flexibility, and resistance to aging and deformation; they are increasingly widely used in modern industry.
Suction Hose Applications
Water Supply: Connects the water source to the pump inlet in suction systems (e.g., for river/lake water intake, agricultural irrigation, and firefighting); typically features a PVC or rubber construction reinforced with a spiral steel wire.
Construction Industry: Used for suctioning slurry, sand, gravel, and industrial water during construction or cleaning operations.
Chemical Industry: Used for suctioning chemicals or oils in applications such as chemical production and transport.
Automotive Industry: Used in engine or mechanical systems to channel air or fuel into the engine, as well as for brake fluid return lines and fuel delivery.
Types of Suction hose
According to the material classification, it can be divided into rubber suction hose, PVC steel wire suction hose, UHMWPE suction hose.
Rubber suction hose has good flexibility, wear resistance, and anti-aging. It is usually embedded with steel wire to resist negative pressure. It is often used in engineering construction, mud, cement, and industrial liquid suction. More suitable for high-pressure and heavy-duty operations.

PVC Fabric Reinforced Suction Hose is a reinforced structure formed by wrapping the inner and outer layers of the PVC hose with a high-strength polyester fiber braided layer. It has excellent softness and is suitable for bending installation. It is more suitable for positive pressure or slight negative pressure applications. It is commonly used in agricultural sprinkler irrigation, cleaning, and low-pressure liquid transportation.
PVC steel wire reinforced suction hose is a transparent suction and discharge hose with soft PVC as the main body and embedded spiral steel wire as the reinforcement layer. It has excellent resistance to negative pressure and anti-twisting. Copper wire can also be added to prevent static electricity.
It is commonly used for industrial waste liquid suction, dust removal, chemical/oil transportation (non-high corrosion), and sewage treatment equipment connecting hose.

PVC spiral suction hose is a dual-purpose suction and discharge hose with soft PVC as the pipe body and embedded hard PVC spiral rib skeleton reinforcement. The hose body is smooth, flexible, not easy to knot or collapse, cost-effective, low maintenance cost, widely used in industry, agriculture, construction fields to transport water, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.
UHMWPE suction hose is a high-performance chemical hose designed for conveying highly corrosive chemicals. The inner layer is made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), which has excellent acid and alkali resistance and solvent resistance, and is suitable for suction and discharge operations of various chemical media.
It has good flexibility, compressive strength and anti-aging ability, and is widely used in chemical plants, tank truck loading and unloading, ship docks, inks and dyes, pharmaceuticals and other industries.
